How ReqGenius scores candidates
Last updated: October 24, 2026
ReqGenius helps employers review applicants faster. This page explains, in plain English, what the software looks at, what it never looks at, and who decides.
What goes into a score
- Your résumé, compared with what the employer wrote down as the requirements for the job.
- Your pre-screen answers, to the questions the employer asked.
- Your interview answers, written or spoken, judged against the criteria the employer set for the job. The AI looks at what you said: how well your answers address each question, your examples and your reasoning.
What is never used
ReqGenius does not score your face, your appearance, the tone of your voice, your accent, or protected characteristics such as race, sex, age, religion, disability or national origin. It does not analyze video of you, and it does not rank you on how you sound.
A person decides
A person at the employer reviews the results and makes every decision. Scores help the employer decide where to look first. They are not a decision.
Integrity signals are flags, not verdicts
During a written interview we note things like the page losing focus, or text being pasted. These are shown to the employer as signals to look at alongside your answers. They do not lower your score by themselves and they do not prove anything. The employer decides what, if anything, they mean.
Your scores and your data
Scores are for the employer, so candidates do not see them. You can ask the employer you applied to for the output about you, or ask them to delete your information. If you are not sure who to contact, or the employer does not respond, email support@reqgenius.com and we will pass your request on.
